Hi from Dr. Kellie!!
As an undergraduate student, I had the unique opportunity to volunteer with an optometrist to provide glasses for underserved communities. Both rewarding and insightful, I knew I had found a wonderful career to pursue. Vision has a profound impact on our quality of life, and it is a privilege to be able to help members of our community see clearly and keep their eyes healthy.
I chose to complete a residency in pediatric eye care because childrens' eye exams are so important. The majority of our visual development occurs in the first 7-8 years of life. Early detection of eye conditions such as high refractive error, strabismus (eye turn), amblyopia (lazy eye), and other binocular vision disorders (how our eyes work as a team) can help ensure children reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants, hanging out with my dog Poppy, and spending time with friends and family.
